The AIT-E Turbo drives are the entry in to the AIT product family and providing higher performance, higher capacity and higher reliability than DAT24 / DDS-3 drives at similar price points. The drives are available as internal ATAPI or SCSI or external SCSI versions.

The AIT-E Turbo drives are available with low cost ATAPI interface for entry servers. It has the highest reliability through AME media and dustproof bezel design. With the same capacity as DDS-4 / DAT40 for a lower cost, the AIT-E Turbo records 20GB in less than one hour with 6MB/sec.

An alternative to DAT72, Sony AIT-1 Turbo drives provide easier connectivity, higher performance, higher capacity and higher reliability than DAT72 drives but cost less. The drives are available as internal SATA, ATAPI or SCSI or external SCSI versions.

The AIT-1 Turbo drives are available with a SATA interface for even easier connectivity to entry servers and are HP Proliant compatible, making integration simple. They have twice the capacity and speed of DDS-4 / DAT40 at a similar cost. The AIT - 1 Turbo has the highest reliability through AME media and a dustproof bezel design and  also uses low cost AIT Turbo media.

An alternative to DAT72 or DLT-VS160, AIT-2 Turbo tape drives provide performance and capacity approaching that of LTO-1 at a price point similar to DAT72, which make them a lower cost solution instead of LTO-1 drives.

With up to twice the capacity and 4 times the speed as DAT72 at a similar price. They also offers 50% more speed performance than DLT-VS160 drives at lower cost.
The AIT - 2 Turbo has the highest reliability through AME media and a dustproof bezel design and also uses a low cost AIT-2 Turbo media.

Using AIT-3 technology, the AITi260S and AITe260SBK offer high performance, best storage density, highest reliability and low cost per GB, offering a clear upgrade for all DAT72, AIT-1 and AIT-2 users as well as an attractive alternative to LTO1 and SDLT. The drives are equipped with an optional dust-proof bezel that ensures the reliability in harsh environments. Rewritable media and write-once read-many (WORM) media for regulatory and secure storage requirements are supported.

The 3.5" internal drives will have a pre mounted 5.25" adapter kit together with optional HP ProLiant rail kits in the box. All AIT-3 drives incorporate an Ultra 160 LVD/SE SCSI interface for easy integration into high-end workstations and servers used for storage and archival purposes.

The Sony StorStation AITi520S and AITe520SBK are the fourth generation of the AIT family and the smallest 200GB native capacity tape drives available with the same drive form factor as DDS. In addition, the AITi520S and AITe520SBK offer high performance, best storage density, highest reliability with 400,000 POH at 100% duty cycle and low cost per GB making this a clear upgrade for all AIT-1, 2 and 3 users as well as an attractive alternative to LTO and SDLT. The WORM tape capabilities allows companies that require non-alterable media to gain up to a 20x cost advantage over other WORM optical and hard disk based technologies.
