AIT-4 media with up to 520GB capacity*

AIT-4 media offers capacities of up to 520GB* compressed data (200GB native), and data transfers of up to 24MB/sec sustained native transfer rate. It uses SDX4-CL cleaning tapes and provides quick access using Remote Memory-In-Cassette (R-MIC). Proven reliability and durability with a 30 year media life thanks to AME II technology (Advanced Metal Evaporated).

The new AIT-3 media from Sony offer a massive capacity of up to 260GB* (compressed data) and have a transfer rate of up to an ultra-fast 28MB/s*, using Sony AIT-3 drives. This superb performance allows 100GB of data to be backed up in just under 1 hour*. Thanks to the remote-sensing R-MIC (Remote Memory-In-Cassette), rapid and accurate access to data is assured. In addition, AIT cartridges offer an unsurpassed durability thanks to their DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) protective film.

With the need for higher capacities, faster access times and higher transfer rates, Sony has developed AIT - Advanced Intelligent Tape. This is the first data media format to address the need for faster access times, using the MIC (Memory-In-Cassette) technology. In addition, AIT cartridges offer an unsurpassed durability thanks to their DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) protective film.

AIT-1 is the ideal upgrade path for any company that has outgrown their existing DDS or DLT drives. As an entry level format, AIT-1 cannot be beaten, offering up to 65GB* (compressed), and a transfer rate of over 10 MB/s
